>Happy Holidays from the Ely Family! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you are enjoying this time of the year as much as I am. There’s something about the week after Thanksgiving that is refreshing, with seeing all of the Christmas lights go up and folks finally starting to get into the Christmas spirit.
As Christmas approaches, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my customers for your support. I am continuing to learn about the joys and challenges of owning and operating a small business. 2009 has been a great year for us, and we continue to look towards the future with optimism.
For those of you who are still doing some Christmas shopping, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we are still offering a 6 jar special for $45. (This $45 includes the shipping and handling, and we will ship this anywhere in the Continental US). These 6 jars can be any combination of pickled asparagus and pickled bell peppers, and I would be happy to send them to family or friends with a Merry Christmas message. Also, I have a special case discount (12 jars), for anyone who would be interested.
Not only do the pickled asparagus and bell peppers make an excellent gift idea, but they are also make an excellent addition to a holiday meal. Some ideas for preparation for the holidays:

Ely Farms Pickled Bell Peppers
Add them to a relish tray for festive green, red, and yellow color.
Put them on a cracker with cream cheese for an excellent snack.
Wrap them in bacon held with a toothpick and grill them on foil. These make fantastic appetizers!
Add them to the Christmas salad, or sandwiches

Ely Farms Pickled Asparagus
· Wrap them in ham with cream cheese and a touch of horseradish. This makes a great appetizer. You can either leave them as a whole spear, or cut them up and put a toothpick through them.
· Flatten out Crust-less bread with a roller, add sandwich spread, and then rollup. Serve them whole or with a toothpick.
· Add them to the holiday Bloody Mary
· Add them to the holiday relish tray.

I know this is only the beginning of what a good chef could do with these products, but I hope it gets the creative “pickled” juices flowing! If anyone has any other preparation Ideas they would like to share, please email me or call me and let me know! Merry Christmas from all of us at Ely Farms!
